What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese method of healing based on the principle of universal life force energy.
The word Reiki is made of two
parts: Rei means "universal", Ki means "Life Force Energy". Reiki works for our highest and greatest good.
It is about healing ourselves and others.
It is a safe and non invasive healing modality that
may be used in conjunction with traditional medicine. It has been respected by medical facilities and schools across the country and is used world wide. Reiki has been used to treat all forms of illnesses, from minor pains to serious chronic conditions.
The father of medicine, Hippocrates, said these profound words,
"The natural force within each of us is the greatest healer of disease". Therefore, with the science and art of reiki, we open ourselves even more to the divine flow of universal energy.
The Reiki Experience
Reiki is performed in a gentle and peaceful setting. The client remains fully clothed, resting comfortably with a pillow and blanket on a massage table. Since reiki practitioners act as vessels for this universal energy, our hands are placed above or on the main chakras (which are the seven major energy centers of the body, aligned with the endocrine system) to clear and balance the energy field. Reiki works on all levels: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. This pure reiki energy goes to wherever it is needed the most for healing to take place.
A full session generally last an hour. Through regular treatments, the chakras are open and purified. At the very least you will experience a deep sense of peace from within while receiving this wonderful gift and begin to enjoy life the way you were intended to. Please know that reiki is compatible with all religions and belief systems.
